Best Soul Journey and Reincarnation Books

TABLE OF CONTENTS show

Reincarnation books, in particular along with manifesting books, had a profound effect on me. They have helped me understand there is a reason why we are here on Earth.

After reading the books on this page I have finally been able to heal from several emotional issues that I carried for years. Obviously you don’t have to read them all; one might just give you the change in perspective that you need.

BEST REINCARNATION, DEATH, AND GRIEVING BOOKS

Keepers of the Garden, by Dolores Cannon

Dolores Cannon is a past-life regressionist and a hypnotherapist. All the information in her books come from interviews and conversations she had with people under hypnosis.
I love all her work, but this is the first book that I read from her and may I say I was hooked! This book relates the story of a man who turns to her for help because he is very depressed and suicidal.
Through past life regression sessions, he discovers this is his first lifetime on Earth. All his other lives were in alien worlds and in other dimensions.
The transcripts from the sessions are amazing. I remember I could not put it down. His case reveals the motives behind the involvement between UFOs and humans.
Although it might be his first time on Earth, this book will leave you with no doubts as to the existence of other worlds, universes, and dimensions. We are so much more than our human bodies.
A great resource for your library.

Your Soul's Plan, By Robert Schwartz

Your Soul’s Plan is a very thought-provoking read.

As difficult as it might be to believe, there is order in this universe, and things happen for a reason. Your higher self has a plan that you might not be consciously aware of.

Your Soul’s Plan explores the premise that we are all eternal souls who plan our lives, including our most significant challenges before we’re born for our spiritual growth and soul healing.

The information about their pre-birth plans was obtained by four gifted mediums and channels. Your Soul’s Plan presents the actual conversations people had with their future parents, children, spouses, friends, and other loved ones when they planned their lives together.

I hope you read this book with an open mind and an open heart. It can bring incredible blessings to your life.

I also highly recommend Schwartz’s follow up book Your Soul’s Gift.

Your Soul's Gift, by Robert Schwartz

Your soul’s gift is the sequel book from Your Soul’s Plan, although you can read it before Your Soul’s Plan.

In this book Schwartz provides the stories of people who have suffered poverty, suicide, and abortion among other topics.

Words can not describe the peace I felt when I finally understood there is a bigger plan for all of us on Earth than what I could have ever imagined.

It is a comforting book, and it gave me my power back. It was depressing to think that all my life experiences were random and I was the victim of fate, not so!. This book will show you that any suffering you have gone through is not meaningless.

A Radical Approach to the Akashic records, by Melissa Feick

This is much more than just a reincarnation book, but I wanted to include it in this post.
The Akashic Records is an ethereal system that acts as a storehouse of all information pertaining to our soul evolution on Earth. The Hall of the Akashic Records is similar to an Earth library, but it is not physical.
In this hall there is an equivalent of a book that contains a record of everything our soul has experienced and the lives we have lived: a record of each life, all our accomplishments and unfinished life lessons, our spiritual growth, talents, and abilities built over all lifetimes, and a record of all our potentials to come.
This book will teach you how to live your life more consciously, learn meditations and exercises to read and heal the Akashic Records for yourself and others,  and so much more.
This book is packed with information that can change your life. Another great resource for your library.

Many Lives Many Masters, by Brian Weiss M.D

After reading the work of Dr. Newton (Books #7 and #8 in this guide), I became very interested in the subject of reincarnation, and I found that one of the pioneers of this work is Dr. Brian Weiss.

Weiss graduated from Columbia University and Yale Medical School and is the former Chairman of Psychiatry at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami.

In Many Lives, Many Masters, Dr. Weiss explains his astonishment when one of his patients began to recall past life traumas. During one hypnosis session, his client introduced spirit guides who had been her soul therapists between lives.

Dr. Weiss explains that bumping into these past-life traumas opened a can of worms for him because he didn’t want to feel ridiculed by his peers; however, he felt he needed to share the message with the world. Dr. Weiss was Chief of Psychiatry and had already published 37 scientific papers and book chapters in his field. He said that it took him four years to write about what happened, to garner the courage to take the professional risk of revealing this unorthodox information.

In his own words (Many Lives Many Masters, Fireside, 1998. Preface) :

I knew that no possible consequence I might face could prove to be as devastating as not sharing the knowledge I had gained about immortality and the true meaning of life.

Since writing Many Lives, Many Masters, Dr. Weiss has also published several more books on the subject of reincarnation and life after death.

Same Soul, Many Bodies by Brian Weiss, M.D

Exploring the Eternal Soul, by Andy Tomlinson

This book is another gem. Tomlinson compiles the information that 15 people —under deep hypnosis — provide about dying, what transpires between lives at the other side of the veil, and their reincarnation.
Andy Tomlinson is a registered psychotherapist, hypnotherapist and is certified in Regression Therapy and Spiritual Regression. He is the Director of Training for the Past Life Regression Academy and trains, lectures and gives talks internationally on past lives and the soul memories between them.
Tomlinson also writes about soul groups, healing from trauma, karma, spirit guides reviews, and much more.
This book is excellent to understand our reincarnation process.

Journey of Souls, by Michael Newton

The information in Journey of Souls was life-changing for me. It totally changed how I viewed life; I was finally able to start healing from my emotional wounds.

Michael Newton, Ph.D., provides one of the most comprehensively researched sources of information I have found on reincarnation, what happens to us when we die, what transpires between lives, and how we planned several details of our future reincarnation on Earth.

He is considered a pioneer in uncovering the mysteries of life after death using hypnotherapy regression techniques.

Dr. Newton discovered that many of his patients were able to recall past-life memories as well as the planning time spent between reincarnations. With the help of his patients, Dr. Newton has documented in detail all the stages of death and birth.

This is one of those books that will stay with you forever.

Destiny of Souls, by Michael Newton

This book is a sequel from Journey of Souls. I would recommend you read first Journey of Souls and then this one, but don’t miss it, it provides a large amount of new information and revelations.

Among other things, Newton subjects recall, under hypnosis, what their subjects did between lives (death and rebirth). He speaks about our soul purpose, why we chose to reincarnate over and over to learn specific lessons, he investigates the nonhuman manifestations of elves, fairies and ghosts! and so much more.
Really interesting, I read it in two settings.

One Last Time: A Psychic Medium Speaks to Those We Have Loved and Lost, by John Edward

I read One Last Time about a decade ago, and I have re-read it once since then.
John Edward is an outstanding medium and has written a very moving, comforting, and uplifting book.

Edward explains how he became a medium and how he can communicate with spirits. One Last Time contains many readings of people who have lost a loved one.
I have attended one of his live events and he was amazing. He came across very genuine, his readings were spot on, and I could tell how much he cares for people.

I have recommended and gifted this book several times.

Life Between Lives, by Michael Newton

Memories of the Afterlife, edited by Michael Newton

Conversations with God, by Neale Donald Walsch

I first read Conversations With God Book 1 about 18 years ago, and I loved it.
About eight years ago I went through a difficult phase in my life and CWG kept coming up in my mind. I then decided to reread it.
This second time it was even more amazing than I remembered. It helped me tremendously.

I felt that I wasn’t alone and that God was really listening. It gave me a lot of comfort.

I also enjoyed reading CWG books 2 and 3, but my favorite of all three is the first one. It must have taken a lot of courage to write a book like this one. I’m very grateful to the author for stepping forward with this information.

From the same author, I also loved Home With God.

This book is such a blessing to the world.

Conversations with God Trilogy, by Neale Donald Walsch

Home with God in a Life that Never Ends, by Neale Donald Walsch

Children Who Remember Previous Lives, by Ian Stevenson

If after reading any of the books listed above you still doubt that reincarnation can be real, please read this book.

There are many cases of children and adults that recall past lives, particularly under hypnosis. Smaller children tend to recall them much more easily without any prompting from an adult or needing to be under hypnosis. They just remember.

Dr. Ian Stevenson, former Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and former chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Neurology, dedicated most of his career to finding evidence of reincarnation.

Stevenson details the research methods he used. It can be a bit clinical but the examples are fascinating.

Another great read.

Living on Earth, by Roser Segarra

Living on Earth is a compilation of all the most useful knowledge I have learned in reincarnation and your soul journey, manifesting, and Spiritual, Emotional, and Healing categories in this blog, with thorough explanations of these subjects and many more book recommendations.

On top of the hundreds of books that I had read beforehand, I did a large amount of research and I truly believe this book contains all the information you need to know about reincarnation and your soul journey.  Additionally, you will learn how to manifest the life of your dreams, and take care of our mind, body, and spirit.

BEST CHANNELING AND CHANNELED BOOKS

Emmanuel's Book: A Manual for Living Comfortably in the Cosmos, by Pat Rodegast

I enjoy channeled materials as I usually find them to be the most enlightened work.
Emmanuel speaks to us through Pat Rodegast and shares his wisdom, love for humanity, and insights into all aspects of life.

Emmanuel’s Book is written in a Q&A format, and it answers many life questions, such as who was Jesus Christ, what is the purpose of reincarnation, how not to become embittered by painful circumstances, and much more.

After reading it I felt very inspired, protected, and loved. It is such a beautiful read. This book gives me so much comfort. Along with Conversations With God it is one of my favorite books of all times. When I’m wondering about a specific problem I open a page at random. It always helps.

Extracted from the book:

The gifts I wish to give you are my deepest love, the safety of truth, the wisdom of the Universe, and the reality of God. With these four things, nothing will deter you. You will follow your hearts swiftly to your destination, which is Home.

Living with Joy: Keys to Personal Power and Spiritual Transformation (Earth Life Series)

Living With Joy is beautifully written, so inspiring and uplifting. It was published over 20 years ago yet it is so current (it was updated in 2012). These teachings will never age.

I have read it a few times, and every single time I get something different from it.

In this book you will learn a myriad of things, such as how to gain self-respect and self-esteem, change negatives into positives, gain clarity in your relationships, and how to listen to your intuition.

There are useful exercises at the end of each chapter and over 300 joy affirmations. I love opening a random page and seeing what is in there.

Another great book to transform your life. Pure wisdom.

BEST SPIRITUAL AWAKENING BOOKS

1. Light Up Your Life, by Diana Cooper

This is one of the first books I bought by this author, about two decades ago, and I loved it. It had a profound effect on me.

Copper takes you through general spiritual and new age principles, starting straight to the point with Chapter 1: We Create Our Lives. From then on she explains some of the spiritual laws, the healing power of forgiveness, releasing negative ties, etc.

I love all of Diana Cooper’s books, and this one certainly fits perfectly as a spiritual awakening book. A gem.

FYI. I have found two versions of this book depending if it is an ebook or a paperback. I have I checked their contents and they are identical to the one I have on my desk.

You can find the ebook and paperback versions in the following links:

Silence: The Power of Quiet in a World Full of Noise, by Thich Nhat Hanh

This book is excellent if you have started to learn about mindfulness, or if you just want to slow down and find some inner peace.

After I read it I felt so much peace, quiet, and gratefulness. I can’t describe it. I have re-read it and it has so many golden nuggets of wisdom.

He makes you think about so many things other than just being mindful. This is one of my favorite quotes from the book:

If we don’t have any purpose feeding us, we are just drifting. There are certain people whom I see only once a year. When I ask them what they have done in the past year, they can’t remember. Sometimes, for most of us, days, whole weeks and even months go by like this, in a fog. This is because we’re not aware of our intention on those days. Sometimes, it seems the only intention in us is just to make it through the day. We rarely offer ourselves the time and space to consider: Am I doing what I most want to be doing with my life? Do I even know what that is?

I highly recommend it.

3. Conversations with God, by Neale Donald Walsch

I have listed this book also in my article 21 books that changed my life forever because it is one of the best ever. This is the review I wrote:

I first read Conversations With God Book 1 about 18 years ago, and I loved it.
About eight years ago I went through a difficult phase in my life and CWG kept coming up in my mind. I then decided to reread it.
This second time it was even more amazing than I remembered. It helped me tremendously.

It is the only one that I have read several times, and to this day I still refer to it.

4. The Celestine Prophecy, by James Redfield

This book and #8 (The way of the peaceful warrior) are slightly different from the rest because they are novels, but with deep spiritual content.

The Celestine Prophecy, a first-person narrative of spiritual awakening, explains how the world is undergoing a shift in consciousness and the emergency of New Age Spirituality.

The story relates a man’s journey to Peru to track down an ancient manuscript that contains nine insights.
Those insights are the gems of the book.

Regardless of how much spiritual and new-age information you have read in the past, this book is a beautiful awakening to spirituality with mystical experiences.

A great spiritual novel for your library.

Dr. Newton discovered that many of his patients were able to recall past-life memories as well as the planning time spent between reincarnations. With the help of his patients, Dr. Newton has documented in detail all the stages of death and birth.

This is one of those books that will have a long impact on you.

6. Spiritual Growth, by Sanaya Roman

All the books in the Earth series are amazing. This is book 3, but I believe you don’t have to read them in sequence to benefit from them (this is not just my opinion, the author also says in the introduction that all 3 books are not in order and can be read separately).

I recommend them all, but this one especially for spiritual awakening. You will learn a myriad of things with this book:

  1. Using your intuition and connecting with the Universal Mind
  2. Creating with light
  3. Seeing the bigger picture: receiving revelations
  4. Calming your emotions
  5. Choosing your reality, creating probable future

And so much more.

There are many good quotes from the book that I wanted to share in this review, so after not being able to pick one I decided to open the book at random (Chapter 5: Seeing the Higher Picture: Receiving revelations)

Imagine you are standing surrounded by heavy fog. It is so heavy that all you can see is a few trees near you. The fog begins to lift, and you can see that you are on a hill. As the fog continues to lift, you can see more hills in the distance, and you soon have a complete picture of all the surrounding areas. This is what it is like as you see the bigger picture, you have an increasingly clear view of the word as seen through the eyes of your Higher Self. With this larger vision, much of your spiritual growth will come from within and be self-directed.

This book has so much wisdom, and awesome meditations at the end of every chapter. Highly recommended!

Also, as I mentioned ealier, I recommend all of the author’s work and her 3 books in the Earth Series. Specifically, I also mention the first one in the series, Living with Joy, in the article that talks about my 21 top spiritual books that changed my life.

7. Your Soul's Plan, By Robert Schwartz

Your Soul’s Plan is a very thought-provoking read. I believe that the more awakened we are the more books like this make sense.

8. Way of the Peaceful Warrior, by Dan Millman

This is a wonderful story about the protagonist’s quest for an understanding of the meaning of life.

This novel is about Dan, a world champion gymnast, and University student.

The story begins when Dan meets his powerful 96-year-old mentor Socrates, an all-night gas station attendant. Socrates teaches Dan many lessons on finding happiness and joy in everyday life.

I love books that make me feel empowered after reading them. This is one of them. Some wonderful nuggets: Keep searching for answers. Do your best to enjoy life. If you find pain, use it.

Great book.

9. Spiritual Psychology; The Twelve Primary Lessons, by Steve Rother

This book answers many life questions.

It is outstanding, but please note this is not light reading like the two novels I have recommended (#4, and #8).

This book goes deep into our pre-life planning sessions (at a soul level, before we are born) and many other spiritual concepts. You can learn a great deal about our human nature.

Among others, these are some things you will learn:

  1. The seven stages of life
  2. The nature of our soul contracts before we are born
  3. What is free will, soul mates, and karmic contracts
  4. The 12 primary life lessons

I’m going to read this book again this weekend. I picked it up from my library to write this review and I  had forgotten how much I loved it.

FYI. When I was looking online at the paperback I was surprised to see the price at $35. Kindle is $7.95 at the time of writing (April 10th). This book is truly amazing but I would not spend $35 on it. I think the publisher only has the kindle version available at the moment and $35 is the resell price.

10. The Universe Has Your Back, by Gabby Bernstein

This is the first book I have read of Gabrielle Bernstein I have really enjoyed it. What I liked the most is the reminder to ask for help and  know that the universe will deliver an answer.

I enjoyed the prayers and examples. This is a great awakening book, a realization that we are much more than random humans living on Earth. The Universe does have your back, and she will show you how.

11. A Little Light on the Spiritual Laws, by Diana Cooper

A Little Light on the Spiritual Laws is a must-have book to understand all the spiritual laws which govern life on Earth.

It teaches you the material aspects of living on Earth such as how you can achieve happiness, prosperity, and success in an easy and simple to understand format, while also understanding other spiritual concepts such as the laws of karma, discrimination, and responsibility, which go hand in hand.

This book sheds light on universal truths and contains numerous true stories that are uplifting and support the teachings of the book.

A Little Light on the Spiritual Laws contains 36 Laws split in 4 sections:

  1. The Basic Laws of Life
  2. The Laws of Creation
  3. The Laws of Higher Awareness
  4. The Laws of Higher Frequency

A must-have, wonderful book.

12. The Heart of The Buddha's Teaching, by Thich Nhat Hanh

When I think about enlightenment I always think of Buddha. I have read some books about Buddhism and this is my favorite.

Buddhism, more than any other religion (or philosophy), brings a lot of wisdom around the nature of suffering and how to overcome it.

Thich Nhat Hanh writes:

After sitting in meditation at the foot of a ficus religiosa, known by Buddhists as the bodhi tree, when the morning star arose, the Buddha realized enlightenment and said, “How amazing that all living beings have the basic nature of awakening, yet they don’t know it. So they drift on the ocean of great suffering lifetime after lifetime.” It means that the potentialities of the Seven Factors of Awakening are already in us, but we don’t know it.

If you are wondering, the 7 factors of awakening are: mindfulness, investigation of phenomena, diligence, joy, ease, concentration, and letting go.

You will also learn about The Four Noble Truths and The Noble Eightfold Path.

This is a wonderful book to learn the core teachings of Buddhism and bring you a higher awakened state.

BEST ANGELS AND SPIRIT GUIDES BOOKS

A New Light on Angels, by Diana Cooper

I love all the work Diana Cooper does. I have been to one of her workshops, and I have read most of her books. She is a wonderful spiritual teacher. I have learned so much from her books.
I recommend all her work, but specifically A New Light on Angels and A Little Light on the Spiritual Laws (book #9 in this list).

A New Light on Angels was the first angel book that I bought, probably around 22 years ago (at the time it was called A Little Light on Angels).

This book teaches about angels and the fact that they are willing to help us whether we believe in them or not; all we have to do is ask.

It was a game-changer for me because when I started asking for help and saw results almost immediately.

Cooper also includes studies and stories from those who were helped by the angels, and instructions for meditations and prayers.
